Aleinu Child Safety Institute

One in four girls, and one in seven boys in the United States is sexually abused by age twelve. - National Child Abuse Data System, 2005

The society that surrounds our Jewish homes no longer stops at the doorstep. Sexual child abuse has battered our homes, synagogues and communities in irreparable ways. Aleinu means ‘it is our responsibility.’ It is our responsibility to answer the cries of children within our community by combating a social epidemic that threatens their innocence. Aleinu Family Resource Center, a program of Jewish Family Service of Los Angeles, works endlessly to create cutting edge programs on safety education and child abuse prevention tactics for schools, parents and children.

Programs include Safety Kid, an Aleinu Julis Child Safety program, Safety Kid on the Net, and Aleinu Safe Camp. Programs are supervised and guided by the Aleinu Halachic Advisory Board.
